The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Candidate for Anambra South Senatorial Zone, Prince Samben Nwosu has disclosed his representation would center on youth and women empowerment.

He said this while addressing journalists in his residence at the Ndiakwu Otolo, Nnewi on Monday,September, 14, 2026.

Samben Nwosu revealed that he is coming with a unique style of representation where all the people of Anambra South would be duly represented.

Being a man of enormous connections, he said he would be readily available to attend all their needs leaving no stone unturned.

“I am Prince Samben Ikechukwu Nwosu. I didn’t show interest because I want to answer a Senator, but because I know that my people need a true leader, who understands what legislation is and how to stand as a mediator in matters that concern them.

“Anambra South is not strange to me. I know every nook and cranny of my Senatorial Zone, likewise the problem my people is facing, which will be my uttermost priority if elected” he maintained.

Furthermore, Prince Samben Nwosu said Anambra South would come alive again under his watch as a Sanator.

The Peter Obi Media Office has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to identify and ensure that the 600 northern Nigerian university lecturers who publicly announced their endorsement of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu’s re election ahead of the 2027 general election are not given any role during the election on January 16, 

The office in a statement issued on Tuesday by Idris Zekeri, alleged that the 600 university lecturers are perfecting plans to rig the 2027 general elections.

It expressed  the Obi Media Office concern, noting that the development was particularly worrisome because university academics had frequently been engaged as electoral officials, including returning and collation officers.

The team further claimed that the public endorsement of an incumbent presidential candidate by academics who could potentially be assigned electoral responsibilities raised questions about possible conflicts of interest.

“The Peter Obi Media Office has become aware of reports that approximately 600 university academics have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“This development is profoundly troubling and should be recognised for what it signifies: an early attempt to build and legitimise a network of partisan actors ahead of the 2027 presidential election,” the statement read in part.

It further said that the academics were not merely private citizens expressing their political preferences, but belonged to an institution that had frequently provided electoral officials.

Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi has asked the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), to make his records available for public examination upon any legitimate request. 

Recall that a former National Publicly Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), Abayomi Arabambi, had dragged both the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the UNN to court, seeking the release of details of Obi credentials 

Arabambi also listed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in his legal battle to seek the release and public scrutiny of Obi’s academic credentials 

Arabambi filed three separate suits before a Federal High Court in Abuja, alleging that Obi’s name appeared differently on documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and educational authorities.

Reacting to his claims, Obi, in a post on X on Tuesday, said he was prepared to face the level of scrutiny expected of anyone seeking the highest political office in Nigeria.

The former governor of Anambra state said he had no objection to the release of his academic records.

“I respectfully request that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, within the limits permitted by law, make available, upon legitimate request, my academic certificates, records, and other official documents relating to my admission and studies at the University,” he wrote.

Obi further directed other institutions he attended within and outside Nigeria to release his records in “accordance with applicable laws and procedures, ” noting that he believes in transparency and accountability, especially for individuals seeking public office.

“As a presidential candidate seeking the trust of Nigerians, I welcome legitimate public interest in my background, qualifications, and record,” he said.

“Those who seek to lead must be willing to demonstrate, through both their words and actions, that they have nothing to conceal from the people they aspire to serve.”

Obi also urged other presidential candidates to make their educational qualifications and relevant records available for public scrutiny.

“Doing so should not be regarded as an inconvenience or an attack, but as an opportunity to strengthen public confidence, promote accountability, and rebuild the trust of Nigerians in those who seek to govern them.

“If we desire a Nigeria founded on transparency, integrity, accountability, and respect for institutions, those values must begin with those who seek to lead it,” he said
